Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Remarkable Jobs. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and that projects are delivered within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, monitor and control project costs to ensure they remain within budget, and conduct regular cost analysis and provide updates on cost variances and potential savings.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contract negotiations, variations, and claims, ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and administer subcontractor agreements and manage subcontractor payments.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports, including cost forecasts, budget updates, and cash flow projections, and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and project-related expenses.
  • Project Profitability: Report on project profitability and identify areas for cost optimization, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure contingency plans are in place to manage potential financial risks.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams to implement value engineering solutions, maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders regarding project costs and financial performance, and provide expert advice on cost-related matters and contractual issues.
  • Leadership: Lead meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss financial aspects of projects, mentor and support junior quantity surveyors and other team members, and contribute to the development of the company's commercial strategy.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the telecommunications or construction industry.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of cost management, contract administration, and procurement practices, proficiency in using industry-standard quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), excellent analytical and numerical skills, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Certifications: Professional membership in RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or similar professional body is preferred.
