Job Title: Assistant Security Controller

JD Sports is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Security Controller to join our team. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring our 24-hour gyms and assisting the Controller with alarm and CCTV monitoring across all JD Sports Fashion PLC sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to alarm activations in a timely and efficient manner, updating relevant stakeholders as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to all procedures related to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) and escalate incidents as required.
  • Liaise with the Police and Fire services in relation to alarm activations.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to assist with intruder alarm setting and activations.
  • Verify the identity of key holders and conduct regular checks to confirm their status.
  • Monitor CCTV in stores and report any issues to the relevant manager.
  • Prepare and submit nightly reports on incidents.
  • Identify and escalate faults to Security Tech, recording the incident number.
  • Adhere to all company policies and work within health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform weekly checks as per the scheduled routine.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required to support the business.
  • Provide footage for the group as requested and ensure compliance with GDPR regulations.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a health and safety environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, with proficiency in database management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to support the Duty Controller.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in the security industry or Alarm Receiving Centre is essential.
  • Pass the required exam to the specified standard upon completion of training.
