Leicester, Leicester, United Kingdom University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking to fill two roles: one Permanent and one Fixed-Term (12 months) within the Information Management and Technology division at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

This is a remarkable opportunity for individuals aiming to advance their careers in a dynamic healthcare setting.

As a Project Coordinator in the IM&T department, you will collaborate closely with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to ensure the effective execution of projects that enhance the digital capabilities of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will be part of a team of eight professionals managing a diverse portfolio of projects within IM&T. These initiatives primarily focus on application modifications, particularly within the e-Hospital framework. The successful candidate will engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including IM&T personnel, Clinical Services, and external partners.

The e-Hospital initiative is a pivotal component of our strategic objectives, aimed at revolutionizing clinician workflows. We are collaborating with a primary vendor to realize this vision, having already achieved several successful project rollouts.

Our team is diverse and dedicated to fulfilling our ambitious goals, and we are looking for someone who can navigate various personalities and viewpoints to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.

About Our Organization

Our newly developed strategy, shaped by input from colleagues, patients, and partners, will guide our efforts over the next several years. We have established four main objectives: delivering high-quality care for all, fostering a positive work environment, building impactful partnerships, and excelling in research and education.

We are committed to embedding health equity in all our initiatives, actively working to mitigate the healthcare disparities faced by certain populations. Our strategy is supported by core values that we strive to embody daily: compassion, pride, inclusivity, and teamwork.

This is an exciting time as we look ahead with a clear understanding of our strengths and areas for improvement, aiming to make a significant impact on the communities we serve.

Job Duties

  • Oversee multiple projects within IM&T, ensuring alignment with defined requirements.
  • Facilitate seamless project delivery across healthcare sectors to prevent siloed operations.
  • Apply various project management methodologies effectively to ensure successful project outcomes while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Adhere to governance and documentation protocols, providing timely and accurate progress reports to the project board.
  • Manage project budgets and report expenditures to relevant oversight bodies.
  • Collaborate with the IM&T PMO and senior project managers to maintain effective project controls and assurance.
  • Capture and quantify project benefits at closure to assess impact.
  • Ensure that business-as-usual considerations are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work in partnership with IM&T staff to maximize the use of operational resources.
  • Lead project team activities while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders involved in ongoing projects to facilitate engagement and address challenges.
  • Collaborate with fellow project managers to optimize the deployment of project staff across initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at external forums related to national IT programs or similar IM&T initiatives.
  • Advocate for customer interests during project delivery meetings and related discussions.
  • Engage with and influence the implementation of IM&T transformation initiatives and strategies as appropriate.
