Senior Insurance Solutions Consultant - EMEA, VP III, State Street Global Advisors

Who we are looking for?

We are in search of a seasoned Insurance Solutions Consultant to become part of a newly established team, reporting directly to the Head of Insurance Strategy. In this global role, you will be tasked with spearheading business strategies aimed at expanding market share within the Insurance client segment across the EMEA region. As a key member of the Insurance center of excellence, you will collaborate closely with Global Client Coverage colleagues to engage with Insurance clients regarding their product requirements, investment considerations, and asset allocation strategies, fostering a solution-driven approach to delivering SSGA investment capabilities.

In your capacity as a senior Insurance Solutions Consultant, you will exhibit a profound understanding of the Insurance client sector, possess significant insights into the regulatory landscape affecting this client group, and proactively drive and position investment solutions to meet client demands. With the increasing focus on ETFs and portfolio solutions, a core competency will be your ability to educate clients on the effectiveness of ETFs as a tool for portfolio construction. You will also be responsible for creating relevant thought leadership for Insurance companies in your region, collaborating with global colleagues as necessary.

You will serve as an educator, collaborator, and trusted provider of investment solutions, assisting our clients and delivering domain expertise to surpass client expectations.

Responsibilities

Lead regional strategy in collaboration with the Client Coverage Group to enhance market share across the Insurance client segment, contributing to the development of business strategies and identifying demand for new products; develop, position, and support these products alongside client coverage teams with Insurance Companies. Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of Insurance client needs, regulatory developments, and considerations pertinent to investment decision-making for EMEA-based Insurance companies. Take ownership of positioning investment solutions and provide appropriate training and materials to support the strategy for the Client Coverage Group. Contribute insights and ideas for the development of investment solutions and structures, while considering local regulatory rules and constraints. Collaborate with investors and their advisors to identify and assess investment needs, recommending suitable investment strategies and solutions. Forge a strong partnership with portfolio management teams to maintain in-depth knowledge, particularly of fixed income markets and SSGA investment capabilities, serving as an expert to client coverage and other stakeholder groups. Provide competitive intelligence for business leadership, partners, and other internal stakeholders regarding the insurance industry, ETFs, and the purchasing behavior of competing investment solutions or ETF strategies relevant to Insurance clients. Demonstrate the ability to strategically position and present SSGA investment strategies [including ETFs] externally at client meetings, industry conferences, and engagements with other market participants. Develop marketing, servicing, and educational materials, including client presentations, white papers, and other thought leadership content to establish a leading investment partnership with Insurance Companies. Support regulatory advocacy and stay informed about industry, market, and company trends to understand key concerns and opportunities for each line of business with Insurance Companies.

In-depth expertise in the Insurance regulatory landscape and experience in positioning investment solutions with Insurance clients. Ability to build and sustain strong working relationships with our partners, marketing, product, and investment teams, including planning for go-to-market strategies, research agendas, and client engagement tactics. Proficiency in discussing cross-asset investment concepts, alongside a substantial understanding of portfolio construction techniques, including trading implementation strategies. Strong understanding of the benefits of the ETF structure and its functionality in secondary and primary markets, along with its relevant use cases for Insurance clients. Capacity to develop and maintain strong working relationships with our marketing, product, and investment teams. Strong numerical skills with the ability to present complex topics to clients. A solutions-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach to achieving success. High levels of integrity and professionalism.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services. Strong insights into Insurance regulatory regime requirements and the impact of investment solutions. Experience or ambition to deliver educational content. Willingness to travel regionally as required. Knowledge of the Insurance market, ETF use cases, and their applicability in Insurance company portfolios. Proven track record of engaging at senior levels on portfolio construction topics with investors. Excellent communication skills to present sophisticated solutions to clients. Ability to work efficiently with and influence internal and external partners. A positive attitude with a strong team orientation, enthusiastic about educating team members and clients. Proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
