Job Overview

Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Compensation: £45,000 - £52,000 + Comprehensive Benefits

Project Partners is collaborating with a reputable utilities organization seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This role is pivotal in overseeing, coordinating, initiating, planning, executing, and monitoring all mechanical elements of primarily clean water design initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing mechanical systems for infrastructure, focusing on clean water treatment facilities while ensuring adherence to client specifications and industry standards.
  • Generating design outputs such as P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, piping layouts, pipework schedules, P&E schedules, pipe supports/thrust design, and mechanical general arrangements.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the completeness and clarity of the design package.
  • Preparing mechanical specifications and datasheets for the procurement of mechanical components (including pumps, valves, and piping).
  • Evaluating technical submissions and providing feedback.
  • Communicating technical information or project outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintaining design contributions throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies to detailed design, construction, and handover.
  • Assisting in budget management at the project level while ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Ensuring adherence to project timelines and all relevant knowledge areas.
  • Participating in site meetings as required.

Candidate Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related position.
  • BTEC HNC/HND in an engineering discipline as a minimum qualification.
  • Possession of an EUSR water hygiene card.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Demonstrated decision-making abilities with a focus on accountability and integrity.
  • Capable of being an engaged team member, with the ability to share knowledge to achieve organizational goals.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and strategic planning to align with the company's long-term vision.
  • A proactive problem solver with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Able to deliver outcomes in a high-pressure environment.
