Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager to join our external Sales Team at Timloc Building Products. This is a home-based role covering the South East region, and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an area business plan targeting merchants in conjunction with their Regional Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Develop and deliver first-class business relationships with national or independent merchant customers to increase selling opportunities.
  • Sales Performance: Ensure consistent and first-class standards of operation are adhered to at all times, including call plans, CRM reporting, quotes, and pricing.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously review sales data to support commercial activity and identify customer and product opportunities within the merchant sector.
  • Customer Relationships: Develop effective and mutually beneficial relationships with groundworkers, brickwork contractors, roofing contractors, and dry lining contractors.
  • Product Knowledge: Ensure merchant customers are fully aware of existing and new products contained within the Timloc product range.
  • Training and Support: Offer product training to merchant teams, in branch or via Teams.
Requirements
  • Experience: Significant experience of working in a Builders Merchants or similar external sales role selling building products to merchants.
  • Skills: Strong formal and informal presentation skills, effective written and face-to-face communication skills, negotiation and account management skills, effective time management, good business acumen, and highly self-motivated with strong resilience.
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of the general builder/roofing merchant sector and associated product knowledge, conversant with Microsoft Office and Google Maps.
What We Offer
  • Salary: Up to £50,000
  • Bonus: Potential bonus of up to 30% based on company targets.
