Matchtech Mobility is seeking a dynamic Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to spearhead the advancement of pioneering maritime technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong drive for innovation and a commitment to excellence in their work.
As a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will be integral to the creation of state-of-the-art maritime solutions. Your role will encompass the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems that energize and regulate various components within maritime platforms. Your specialized knowledge will play a vital role in promoting sustainable transportation technologies.
Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Integration:
    Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall designs.
  • Design and layout of electrical systems, focusing on power distribution, wiring harnesses, connectors, control modules, motor control, battery management, and charging systems.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and safety regulations throughout all electrical design processes.

Prototyping and Testing:

  • Develop prototypes of electrical systems and components for validation and testing.
  • Partner with testing teams to execute functional, performance, and safety evaluations on electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Identify innovative opportunities and propose enhancements to improve the efficiency, performance, and sustainability of electrical systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Generate comprehensive documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports related to electrical design.
  • Effectively communicate design concepts and findings to team members, management, and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of industry experience with an apprenticeship qualification.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
  • Experience with 3D CAD systems is beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Voltages (DC) and CAN Bus is advantageous but not critical.
  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools for electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle architectures, power electronics, and battery management systems.
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations related to electric vehicles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Prior experience in electric vehicle design or automotive electronics is a plus.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting detailed design specifications for high-value projects.
  • A proactive individual with a strong commitment to self-motivation.
  • Willingness to embrace innovation and creativity, with a focus on lateral thinking.
  • Experience in testing and commissioning.
