Position: Lead Electrical Systems Engineer

Project Focus: Renewable Energy Initiatives

Work Arrangement: Hybrid model with office presence required

Compensation: Competitive, based on expertise – Inside IR35

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Position Summary:

The Lead Electrical Systems Engineer will be integral to the Renewable Energy Division. Reporting directly to the Chief Electrical Engineer, this position entails establishing technical specifications for essential electrical systems, supervising contractual technical obligations, and ensuring compliance with rigorous standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental stewardship.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and define specifications for Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) systems for both offshore and onshore renewable energy projects.
  • Offer engineering insights and recommendations to guarantee that project objectives are achieved within the designated timeframe, budget, and quality parameters.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and adherence to industry best practices and internal protocols.
  • Remain informed about and incorporate the latest technological innovations in EHV/HV electrical systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with both internal and external technical specialists to fulfill project objectives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with EHV/HV electrical systems and grid interconnections specific to renewable energy projects.
  • Demonstrated success in engineering design and project execution.
  • Experience in interpreting and analyzing electromechanical schematics.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, across various organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for project requirements.

Educational Background:

  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and project management for large-scale initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering standards and operational procedures.

Additional Notes:

  • No offshore work anticipated.
  • No site work expected.
  • International travel may be necessary later in the project lifecycle.
