About the Role:

Care UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Executive Chef Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in ensuring that food is prepared to the highest standard and that deadlines are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus, taking into account dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring that food is presented to a high standard.
  • Manage kitchen inventory and supplies, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that waste is minimized.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes, working closely with the Head Chef and other members of the culinary team.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are maintained in good working order, and that health and safety standards are met.

Requirements:

  • Catering Diploma (City & Guilds/BTEC) and NVQ 2/3 in practical cookery and Health and Safety.
  • Food Hygiene Certificates (minimum level 2).
  • Good knowledge of nutritionally balanced menu planning and a proven ability to cater for specific dietary needs.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and communication.
