About the Role:

Searcys, a renowned hospitality company, is seeking an experienced and skilled Events Sous Chef to join their team at The Barbican Centre. As a key member of the back-of-house team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing the day-to-day service, leading and mentoring junior staff, and delivering high-end events with exceptional quality food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide food and service to a consistent high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other areas of the business.
  • Manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the executive chef.
  • Assist in the training of junior staff.
  • Liaise with key team members to plan for the provision of food in all areas.
  • Place orders directly with suppliers.
  • Ensure smooth running of daily operations, including maintaining the pre-agreed menu offer and managing stock levels.
  • Responsible for waste control and ensuring the presentation of food meets the standards set by senior chefs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in people management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
