Commis Chef Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at The Dam Inn in Newmillerdam. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in assisting our experienced chefs in preparing high-quality dishes and maintaining the highest standards of kitchen safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Prepare ingredients, vegetables, meats, and fish for service
  • Support other chefs in the kitchen, including plating and garnishing dishes
  • Help with deliveries, restocking, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
  • Contribute to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards
Essential Skills:
  • Good work ethic and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing kitchen demands and priorities
  • Methodical and clean working approach
Ideal Skills:
  • Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards
  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience in a kitchen environment
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques and COSHH regulations
  • Experience with kitchen equipment and dangerous equipment such as knives
