Job Description

As a Sales and Business Development Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with customers in the academic research, government laboratories, and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Sales Growth: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and margin goals, and optimize selling time to enhance communication and influencing skills.
  • Build Customer Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure continued market penetration and profitability, and provide timely feedback on customers, competitor activity, and promotions.
  • Manage Pricing and Inventory: Manage pricing within your territory to optimize profitability, and provide customers with information on supply and price trends, and assist in inventory control.
  • Collaborate with Sales Team: Work closely with other sales team members to implement account strategies in key accounts, and establish relationships with key suppliers and negotiate improved terms to increase profitability.
  • Meet Performance Indicators: Review, maintain, and manage compliance to key performance indicators, and stay informed about competitor activity and maintain a high level of business knowledge relevant to the region.
Requirements:
  • Sales Experience: Demonstrable sales experience or significant laboratory experience in the research laboratory industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, web, and sales force software.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Travel: Full driver's license and willingness to travel (up to 80% of the time).
  • Language: Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Personality: Confident personality with effective engagement skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate efficiently in a diverse work setting with various individuals involved.
  • Adherence: Adherence to company policies and values.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional and effective interpersonal skills when interacting with customers and stakeholders.
