About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Head of Healthcare to lead our Respiratory and Sleep Science service. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of respiratory and sleep services across the Health Board, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the delivery of respiratory and sleep services, working closely with the clinical lead and management team to develop and implement service plans.
  2. Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to respiratory and sleep physiology teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.
  3. Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  4. Work closely with the clinical physiology managers at each site to ensure service and staff development, quality assurance, and governance.
  5. Perform a range of respiratory and sleep diagnostic investigations, using your expertise to diagnose complex pathologies and manage patient pathways.
  6. Act as a senior member of the onsite team, providing leadership and guidance to colleagues and supporting the development of the service.
  7. Manage physical resources effectively, ensuring the service has the necessary equipment and facilities to deliver high-quality patient care.
  8. Develop and support research initiatives, working with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and develop new treatments and services.
  9. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, working with colleagues, patients, and families to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in clinical physiology, with experience of leading and managing respiratory and sleep services. You will have a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, and be registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiology (RCCP) or HCPC. You will also have evidence of postgraduate education or training, and clinical skills training.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will have strong leadership and management skills, with experience of planning and developing specialist services. You will be able to communicate complex information to key stakeholders, and have experience of working in a research environment.
