A newly established position is available for a Director of Commercial Finance to become a vital part of the University's Finance team. This pivotal role will focus on enhancing the University's capacity to improve commercial returns while providing strategic financial guidance for economic growth and international projects.

The University generates over £100 million annually from commercial activities, with plans for further expansion as it invests in new commercial ventures and seeks partnerships to maximize economic impact in Glasgow and beyond.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Finance, you will spearhead the strategic and operational advancement of the University's commercial finance initiatives, fostering value, growth, and revenue generation in alignment with the institution's strategic goals.

This position will significantly influence the University at all levels, requiring interaction with senior internal stakeholders and external partners, including funders and clients.

With a solid history of leadership and achievement in a senior financial capacity, particularly within complex organizational environments, you will bring extensive post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial finance.

Your strong commercial negotiation skills will be essential for managing multi-million-pound long-term agreements, alongside your expert understanding of project financing, contractual obligations, and financial structures.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic visionary, capable of developing and executing effective strategies and policies. You will also have a proven track record in leading and nurturing high-performing teams to achieve excellence, including overseeing third-party specialists.
