An exciting new position has emerged for a Director of Commercial Finance to become a key member of the University's Finance team. This pivotal role will be essential in improving the University's commercial returns and providing strategic financial guidance for economic growth and international projects.

The income generated from commercial activities exceeds £100 million annually and is projected to increase as the University invests in additional commercial ventures and seeks partnerships to enhance economic impact both locally and globally.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Finance, you will spearhead the strategic and operational advancement of the University's commercial finance framework, focusing on value creation, growth, and revenue generation in alignment with the institution's strategic goals.

This position will have a significant influence across the University, requiring interaction at a senior level with internal stakeholders, as well as external partners, funders, and clients.

To be successful in this role, you will need a proven history of leadership and achievement at a senior financial level, particularly within complex and large-scale environments. You should possess substantial post-qualification experience in corporate finance and commercial finance.

Exceptional negotiation skills in high-value, long-term agreements are essential, along with in-depth knowledge of project financing, contractual agreements, and financial structures.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic visionary capable of formulating and executing strategies and policies. You will also have extensive experience in leading and developing high-performing teams to achieve excellence, including managing external experts.
