About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and fashion-forward Fashion Designer to join our ASOS Design Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and designing ranges for ASOS DESIGN Jersey Day Dresses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Range Development: Identify key shapes for the season, colour, fabric, and build a range that offers choice for our global customer base.
  • Commercial Design: React to sales information and design commercially relevant fashion-forward ranges.
  • Trend Research: Research current and future trends by a collection of different sources to identify newness and interpret into first-to-market pieces.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work with the technical team on initial fits, identify and help problem-solve for the department.
  • Supplier Management: Build relations with suppliers and advise factories on direction, construction, key details, materials, and trims.
  • Project Management: Adhere to the critical path to achieve deadlines, ensuring product is developed for the relevant and optimum selling period.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in designing for an aspirational brand or similar high-street retailer.
  • Supplier Management: Previous experience of working with Far East, European, and UK suppliers.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience in working with a buyer to plan and deliver a balanced range and first-to-market pieces.
  • Fashion Perspective: Strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the ASOS brand and customer.
  • Time Management: Strong time management.
  • Problem-Solving: The confidence to identify problems and make improvement suggestions, seeking practical ways to overcome barriers and remaining calm under pressure.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate to the team and senior management the performance and strategy of the department.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally as required, for supplier meetings and inspiration/development trips.
