Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Advisor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a positive health and safety culture within the business and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Health, Safety and Environment strategy within the business, including the review and update of internal policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze health and safety statistics, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and providing input into monthly reports.
- Participate in the creation and delivery of an in-house behavioral safety training program for all staff.
- Deliver quarterly health and safety presentations to all staff, updating them on recent updates and statistics.
- Contribute to the quarterly staff newsletter, providing health and safety updates.
- Participate in company focus groups to identify areas for development and best practice.
- Ensure ISO certification and standards are maintained across the entire operation, including BS EN ISO 14001:2015 and BS EN ISO 45001:2018.
- Ensure Achilles/NSAI standards are maintained.
- Ensure the company remains in full compliance with current and future OHS legislation.
- Interpret and adhere to health and safety regulations and requirements by all Designer Group staff.
- Implement health and safety initiatives to differentiate Designer Group from competitors.
- Optimize, audit, and ensure the effectiveness of systems relating to construction regulations, contractor management, and hazardous work tasks.
- Provide advice to senior management and site teams on the use of plant and equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Undertake workplace inspections and management audits.
- Lead by example and foster engagement with all parties.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring maximum learning is taken and shared with other DG sites and personnel.
- Take a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring all procedures are followed and providing advice on compliance.
- Oversee the implementation of site-specific health and safety documentation, ensuring risks and hazards are effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
- Provide health and safety input and documentation into new site set-ups.
- Issue method statements and risk assessments on all projects, as required, in conjunction with the construction team.
- Participate in audit processes and procedures, ensuring the business complies with all relevant statutory and best practice.
- Ensure Designer Group complies with duties imposed under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM).
