The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing fuel installations and fuelling operations at the airport, ensuring adherence to CAA, JIG, HMRC, legal, and fuel provider standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise fuelling operations, ensuring timely and compliant fuel receipt, delivery, and in-to-plane activities.
  • Manage departmental budgets, encompassing overtime, communications, uniforms, fuel, vehicle maintenance, and equipment rentals.
  • Ensure staff compliance with established procedures and safety management protocols.
  • Maintain current risk assessments and documented procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate shift schedules and rosters, providing additional coverage as necessary.
  • Oversee training initiatives and maintain training records to fulfill compliance requirements.
  • Lead the development of operational training standards for airport fuelling.
  • Ensure fuel quality aligns with regulatory and provider specifications.
  • Manage the inspection and upkeep of vehicles and equipment, addressing any deficiencies promptly.
  • Ensure that unserviceable equipment is not utilized and coordinate with relevant departments.
  • Review reports from Aircraft Refuelling Supervisors for MORC submissions.
  • Oversee the procurement of fuelling operation assets.
  • Manage the purchasing and delivery of various fuels, coordinating with accounts for stock management.

Candidate Profile:

  • Valid HGV class 1 license
  • Competence in aircraft refuelling (equivalent to JIG 1/2)
  • Training in aviation fuel management
  • IOSH certification
  • Knowledge of aviation health and safety and security reporting
  • Understanding of financial and regulatory compliance
  • Awareness of environmental issues related to fuelling
  • 5+ years of experience managing fuel farm operations
  • Recent experience driving at airports
  • Skills in customer relationship management
  • Experience with monthly MORC returns
  • Management of vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Training in fuelling operations
  • Experience as a fire marshal/security personnel
