Derby, Derby, United Kingdom Park Medical Practice Full time

Position Overview

Park Medical Practice - 6-8 Sessions

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and proactive General Practitioner Associate to become a part of our dynamic and innovative team. Our practice operates across multiple locations, providing comprehensive healthcare services to our community.

We offer flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to have a say in your working hours. Our in-house practice rota system empowers you to manage your daily responsibilities effectively. We are committed to fostering an environment of training, education, support, and personal growth.

We are in search of an individual who aligns with our practice ethos of thinking creatively and seizing opportunities to enhance patient care as a valued member of our team.

Whether you are a GP exploring your first partnership role or an experienced practitioner seeking a new direction, we welcome the opportunity to connect with you.

Our team engages in regular meetings scheduled well in advance, emphasizing education and development as key priorities. We recognize our strengths and areas for improvement, and we are aware of the challenges facing primary care. With strong leadership and teamwork, we aim to tackle these challenges while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We want you to have the chance to make a significant impact within our practice.

As part of a collaborative network, we work closely with other like-minded practices to serve our local population effectively.

Main Responsibilities

Our practice consists of a team of nine partners, supported by a highly skilled management team.

We are looking for a well-rounded GP, but we also encourage professional development and are eager to incorporate any specific interests you may have.

Being part of a network with a single other practice allows us to respond swiftly and make a meaningful difference in our community.

The on-call commitment for a six-session partner is approximately 16 times per year.

We benefit from a dedicated home visiting team, enhancing our service delivery.

There are opportunities for social engagement and team bonding through various events, including gardening clubs, family outings, quiz nights, and more.

About Our Practice

Our team comprises nearly 100 staff members, serving around 29,000 patients with diverse healthcare needs. We operate on a 12-minute appointment system, with plans to extend this to 15 minutes in the future. Our clinical team includes partners, GP registrars, retained staff, advanced clinical practitioners, salaried GPs, specialist nurses, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and phlebotomists. We collaborate with our network colleagues, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, physiotherapists, social prescribers, care coordinators, mental health workers, and a network manager.

We have an active patient participation group that plays a vital role in our practice.

Recently, we have initiated outreach clinics for underserved patients, organized drop-in sessions for mental health support, and conducted vaccination drives in the community. We also engage in educational projects, including health and wellness events that have been well-received.
