About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Employability Coordinator to join our team at Cambridgeshire County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in establishing a new supported employment café at Huntingdon Community Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement innovative ideas to attract and engage the community in the café
  • Create an inclusive and supportive environment for trainees to gain work skills
  • Oversee the daily operation of the café, including purchasing, money handling, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards
  • Work closely with adults with learning disabilities and autism to develop their skills and confidence
Requirements
  • Experience in working in a café or similar setting, adapting processes for people with disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in community engagement
  • Ability to identify issues and find effective solutions quickly
  • Understanding and patience for individuals with diverse needs
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone
