As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a knowledgeable Quality Inspector who possesses a comprehensive understanding of AS9100 standards and First Article Inspection (FAIR).

Role Overview:

In the position of Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for examining both in-process and finished products using various mechanical measurement tools and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure adherence to technical specifications, customer expectations, and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and validations of components throughout all phases of the manufacturing process for a diverse range of precision machined parts.
  • Perform First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR) to verify compliance.
  • Ensure that all manufactured components meet the required drawing and specification standards.
  • Identify and report non-conformances effectively.
  • Engage in Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions, ensuring proper rework of components when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve quality and production objectives.
  • Manage customer returns and maintain effective communication with external clients to foster positive relationships and resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Assist in compiling and reporting monthly quality statistics.

Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar capacity within a Precision Engineering Aerospace environment.
  • Thorough understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Familiarity with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR AS9102).
  • Proficient in the use of Mechanical Measurement Equipment (Verniers, micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) and CMM.
  • Experience in conducting first-off, stage, and final inspections.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with confidence.
  • Capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel.
  • Prior experience with AS13002 implementation, including measurement system analysis and Statistical Process Control, is highly advantageous.
