This organization is engaged in the exploration, extraction, transportation, and marketing of crude oil and natural gas. It operates through various segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate. The Upstream segment encompasses the exploration, development, and production of crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. The Downstream segment is focused on refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, petrochemical products, and related services to both international and domestic clients. The Corporate segment provides essential support services, including human resources, finance, and information technology.

Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Planning & Performance Management Analyst to join the Downstream Finance Planning and Performance Management Department (DSP&PMD). This department is primarily responsible for periodic performance reporting and the coordination, consolidation, and preparation of the annual Downstream Business Plan, periodic performance reviews, and accountability reporting.

The department includes personnel who act as liaisons with various business segments and units, coordinating planning and performance reporting activities, conducting variance analysis, identifying opportunities for performance enhancement, resolving issues, and fulfilling various ad hoc reporting requirements, including benchmarking activities.

The Senior Planning & Performance Management Analyst's main responsibility is to support the management of substantial business product lines and their integration into the Downstream business results. The Analyst will also strive to identify opportunities to enhance business performance and communicate these insights to the business for implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Business Planning, Forecasting, and Reporting activities.
  • Deliver analysis, explanations, and recommendations for regular Planning & Performance Management (P&PM) tasks, including business plan preparation, periodic performance tracking, measurement analysis, and reporting.
  • Conduct specialized P&PM-related studies, such as performance initiatives, business case development, scorecard creation and monitoring, target setting, benchmarking, risk management, and the design/redesign of measurement processes and workflows.
  • Develop new financial models or review segment-related models, providing economic insights on earnings, investments, and market matters.
  • Perform benchmarking analysis to identify value opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • This position necessitates the candidate to relocate to a designated location.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field. An advanced business degree (e.g., MBA) and/or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CFA, CPA) are preferred.
  • Have over 12 years of industry-relevant experience, demonstrating a strong commercial and financial understanding of the Downstream value chain, such as Chemicals Trading or Refining.
  • Exhibit expertise and a proven track record in planning and performance management practices, including performance analysis assessment and reporting, financial reporting, business planning/budgeting, business case preparation, project management, and financial modeling.
  • Have experience in one or more areas of the Downstream value chain, particularly in Planning and Performance Management functions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data, with experience in business intelligence tools being advantageous.
  • Show solid knowledge and understanding of management accounting, finance, and proficiency in Excel.
  • Exhibit strong written and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex analyses into simple concepts.
