The Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role within the Core Services team, delivering essential financial and management accounting support to the Rail Delivery Group and its stakeholders. This position involves assisting in the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of management accounts, budgets, and forecasting reports, including the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Utilize financial systems to record journal entries (such as accruals and prepayments) and analyze the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets across various legal entities.
  • Implement a cost center framework within a management accounting setting to evaluate different business operations.
  • Oversee project accounting, focusing on timesheet management and cost allocation to specific projects.
  • Manage monthly billing processes and generate Sales Orders.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in all financial reporting.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, enabling effective data manipulation and report generation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute positively as a team member, collaborating across various functions and departments.
  • Work independently when necessary, managing deadlines efficiently.
  • Adopt a proactive approach, engaging in business initiatives that represent the finance team.
  • Support the successful completion of the annual statutory audit by addressing audit inquiries promptly and assisting in the preparation of financial statements as needed.
  • Provide timely ad hoc financial analysis as required.
