As a Transport Planner at Great Bear, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day planning of our transport operations. This includes subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.

Key Duties:

  • Planning daily workload for a fleet of vehicles based on and off site
  • Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax, and email from customers, sub-contract hauliers, and warehousing sites
  • Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times
  • Maintaining, creating, and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports
  • Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise
  • Supporting the fleet and driver training team as and when required
  • Completing pre and post-debrief for all driver shifts
  • Delivering effective, professional, and timely internal and external communications
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment. You will also need to have excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of SAP, BPCS, and Road Runner
