Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Contract Manager to oversee the management of civil engineering projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in infrastructure or energy projects and be familiar with health and safety policies and contracting principles.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Oversight: Manage multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget.
  2. Contract Administration: Oversee contracts throughout the project, ensuring compliance and smooth progress.
  3. Budget Management: Assist with project budgets, prepare cost estimates, and track expenses to stay within budget.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, and monitor them throughout the project.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure the project meets quality standards and adheres to contract specifications and industry standards.
  6. Change Management: Handle changes to project scope, schedule, or budget, and ensure all changes are documented and approved.
  7. Dispute Resolution: Resolve disputes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers promptly and effectively.
  8. Project Coordination: Coordinate with teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and project progression.
  9. Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
  10. Team Building: Build, support, and maintain the site team/workforce.
  11. Documentation Support: Assist site management teams with the production of project documentation.
  12. Innovation: Collaborate to find new, cost-effective ways of working that enhance performance across key metrics.
  13. Bid Management Support: Provide operational support to the Bid Management team, including program support, risk assessments, and participation in meetings and interviews.
  14. Progress Monitoring: Track and report project progress to stakeholders and senior management.
  15. Subcontractor Management: Develop and protect subcontractor relationships through effective supply chain management and monitoring systems.
  16. Policy Implementation: Ensure site management teams implement all company procedures and policies.

Requirements

  1. Education: Degree or HNC level in civil engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Prior experience in infrastructure or energy projects is essential.
  3. Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety policies and contracting principles.
  4. Other: Full UK driver's licence.
  5. Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
