Role Overview:

  • The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the premises, managing minor projects within the site, and ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.
  • Ensure that all areas of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, and well-maintained, sensitive to the needs of those we support.
  • Maintain high professional standards in record-keeping and reporting related to site operations.
  • Participate in regular audits of quality systems as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections and address any issues with contractors that do not meet required standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all current national regulations and inspection standards relevant to this type of establishment.
  • Manage maintenance workloads effectively and proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek assistance with technical matters as needed.
  • Identify and implement projects that enhance the functionality and efficiency of the facility for staff, students, and visitors.
  • Ensure that all projects are completed on schedule and that areas used by contractors are left in excellent condition.

What You Bring:

  • Knowledge in Building and Maintenance
  • Experience with compliance and documentation
  • A background in a trade is preferred but not mandatory
