The Role of Facilities Caretaker
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our facilities team as a Facilities Caretaker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our airport facilities, including hangar floors, toilets, and welfare areas. This will involve daily cleaning tasks, as well as responding to spills and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting of hangar floors, toilets, and welfare areas
- Respond to spills and emergency situations, including cleaning up hazardous materials and reporting incidents to management
- Empty bins and maintain a clean and tidy environment
- Assist with waste management and recycling programs
- Perform external cleaning tasks, including weeding and pruning of airport grounds
- Check stock levels and order supplies as needed
- Assist with deliveries and receive goods on behalf of the facilities team
Requirements
- Basic DIY skills and experience with maintenance procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address safety and maintenance concerns
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to give instructions to contractors
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse range of customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full and clean driving license
- Checkable five-year employment history
