Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant to work alongside our team in Christchurch. This role requires confidence in leading small group interventions and resilience when working with children with additional learning and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist teachers in creating and delivering engaging lesson plans.
  • Implement and monitor individual support strategies for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to promote student well-being.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant).
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs and behavioural needs.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with students and staff.
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

To be Eligible:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Present an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
