Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Head of Technical Services at the Dover Town Library. This is a full-time position that will oversee all aspects of acquisition, cataloging, and processing in a non-Dewey library that values innovation and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the acquisition, cataloging, and processing of library materials
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for technical services
  • Supervise and train library assistants in technical services
  • Collaborate with other department heads to achieve library goals
  • Provide reference and reader's advisory services to patrons
  • Contribute to programming and collection development
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public library services, and a strong understanding of bibliographic services and public service principles.

Working Conditions

This is a 35-hour per week position that requires working one evening per week and some Saturdays.

Salary

$32,000 per year
