Technical Specialist

The Technical Rating will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard the vessel, ensuring the vessel is in all respects prepared for the voyage. This includes conducting regular inspections, arranging transfers of fuel and lubricants, and ensuring all planned maintenance and repair work is carried out.
The role also involves working closely with the Maintenance Superintendent to plan and coordinate work, minimizing disruption to the vessel's overall programme and ensuring maximum reliability and availability of the plant.
Additionally, the Technical Rating will be responsible for ensuring all measures to prevent pollution of the environment are exercised and for keeping all engine room records as required by the Company and other authorities.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Company and Shipboard regulations and policies, as well as a good command of English (written and spoken).
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. They will also have a good understanding of the technical operation of the installations of designated equipment and basic knowledge of operational processes.
Other essential requirements include a full driving licence, current passport, and 3 years' UK residency. The candidate must also be available to work a 3-week on, 2-week off shift pattern.
