Vessel Traffic Services Officer

The Port of Dover is a leading international ferry port and a vital gateway for the movement of people and trade. As a Vessel Traffic Services Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vessels within the port's jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and regulate the movement of all vessels within the port and its jurisdiction
- Advise masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage
- Allocate berths to vessels entering or manoeuvring within the port in accordance with schedules where pre-planned
- Arrange in conjunction with the Duty Harbour Master the allocation of berths for unscheduled arrivals
Requirements:
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade 4 or above
- Degree level education, or demonstrable experience in operational management and planning
- Must be able to achieve a CO103/1 certificate
- Must have previous experience within VTS or comparable industry or Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW
- Proficient with MS Office
- Analytical and technical aptitude and be able to demonstrate good spatial awareness
- Be able to work shifts to include days and nights
- Willingness to work overtime if required
