Carrington West is collaborating with a local authority client in the South West to identify a Lead Compliance Officer.

This role is structured as a rolling contract, providing an opportunity to engage in a dynamic and impactful environment.

The ideal candidate will be part of a dedicated team, delivering a high-quality and efficient Compliance service that addresses violations of regulatory standards, including intricate and high-profile cases, while taking prompt and decisive measures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of inquiries regarding suspected regulatory violations, offering strategic recommendations to senior management and legal advisors regarding the best course of action.
  • Serve as the primary compliance liaison with regulatory bodies, preparing and coordinating written submissions and representations on behalf of the organization.
  • Conduct site assessments, evaluate adherence to compliance conditions, and monitor commitments, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting of all activities, while proposing actions in cases of non-compliance.
  • Represent the organization at decision-making committees, meetings, working groups, boards, and external events, where advocacy for compliance and monitoring issues is essential.

The successful candidate should possess prior experience in regulatory compliance within a UK local authority, demonstrate exceptional communication skills, and be comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively with support from various departments.

This position is designed to offer flexible working arrangements, requiring in-person attendance only for critical project meetings. The contractor will be responsible for organizing their own site evaluations.
