Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged to become part of a dynamic partnership focused on delivering treatment and recovery services for substance use. This initiative combines the strengths of various organizations, leveraging extensive experience in substance use provision along with specialized knowledge in recovery and support for individuals facing complex challenges.

Our approach is rooted in a Recovery First model, ensuring that lived experience is fully integrated into our services. Residents will benefit from a highly localized and cohesive strategy that addresses multiple issues across the community.

As a community-focused Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to initiate positive changes in their lives. Your passion for helping others will be supported by a friendly and multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will engage in various interventions including opiate substitute treatment (OST), benzodiazepine reductions, and detoxification processes for alcohol and opiates. You will also conduct health care assessments, administer detoxification medications, and provide essential screenings and vaccinations while collaborating closely with mental health, physical health, and social care services.

Your participation in local prescriber meetings, one-on-one clinical supervision, and national clinician gatherings will enhance your professional development. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided, allowing you to contribute significantly to service delivery and uphold clinical excellence.

As part of our team, you will have access to resources that support your professional growth, including indemnity insurance and assistance with revalidation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or be a qualified Pharmacist with independent prescriber status. You should be confident in managing all aspects of prescribing for opiates and overseeing alcohol detoxifications.

Joining an established team, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and organizational abilities. You will be adept at developing creative and flexible support packages tailored to individual needs while effectively managing a busy service.

We seek someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with diverse individuals, possesses a deep sense of empathy, and is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Benefits

We recognize that rewards vary for each individual, and we aim to support you through a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Payment for NMC Registration / GPhC Renewal fees
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities to invest in your future
  • 31 days of paid holiday annually, increasing with service
  • Exclusive discounts for employees across various sectors
  • Flexible working arrangements to enhance work-life balance
  • Life Assurance and a competitive Pension Scheme
  • Access to confidential counselling services and a wellbeing platform
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme
  • Recognition awards for outstanding contributions
  • Flexible benefit options including a Cycle to Work scheme
  • A referral bonus for introducing new colleagues

We reserve the right to close this advert early if we are able to appoint to the vacancy before the advertised closed date.
