Homeless Housing Coordinator (SO2) Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Homeless Housing Coordinator (SO2) to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in providing specialist homelessness casework and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by homeless applicants with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver specialist homelessness casework to applicants with complex needs, ensuring high levels of customer service in a challenging environment.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve outcomes for homeless individuals, working effectively with various stakeholders, including applicants, council members, and external partners.
  3. Ensure all casework is compliant with national, regional, and local policies, representing the council in court, defending or challenging homelessness decisions.
  4. Achieve performance objectives in the delivery of homelessness services, contributing to the dissemination of best practices within the Housing Advisory Service.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  1. Proven experience delivering homelessness casework, particularly for individuals with complex needs, with strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, policy, and case law.
  2. Experience in representing cases in court related to housing and homelessness, with the ability to deliver high levels of customer service in a challenging environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to meet performance objectives consistently in homelessness services, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by homeless applicants with complex needs.
