Role Overview

As the Area Supervisor, you will oversee the safe and effective management of Energy Operations, including both direct and contracted teams, within our North West Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a motivated and efficient workforce, focusing on performance improvements and cost efficiencies while ensuring operational excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and enhance the productivity of resources and assets, utilizing data and management information to meet operational goals.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with Safe Control of Operations procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Oversee engineering compliance for all assets within your area.
  • Manage the safe engagement of external contractors and internal teams on-site, ensuring proper briefings and emergency protocols are in place.
  • Participate in the Network Operational Standby rota as required.
  • Administer the G17 process for reactive work in collaboration with the Portfolio team.
  • Ensure adherence to Safe Control of Operations (SCO) standards.
  • Manage the PMAC system within your geographical area, addressing alarms promptly.
  • Supervise the Pipeline Inspection Programme and ensure plant protection measures are in place.
  • Maintain the health and integrity of network assets.
Qualifications and Skills
  • HNC/SNVQ/NVQ or equivalent operational experience in network engineering, supported by relevant training.
  • IOSH certification.
  • Knowledge of SCO CP & AE.
  • Experience in delivering engineering projects.
  • In-depth understanding of gas assets and process systems.
  • Familiarity with Gas Distribution's core processes.
  • Comprehension of risk management principles and HSE regulations.
