This is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave for a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist position. The successful candidate will require possession of a specialist diploma from the Institute of Biomedical Science. In the absence of suitable candidates, experienced, registered biomedical scientists will be considered for a Band 5 position.

Key Requirements

  • State registration with the Health Care Professions Council as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Successful completion of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Clinical Immunology
  • Educated to BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or a degree acceptable to the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and the Health Care Professions Council

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience with specialist techniques within the discipline
  • Participation in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences CPD scheme
  • Proficiency in using statistical packages for quality control analysis

About the Role

  • Monitor quality control trends and analyze data for Immunology machines
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure accurate and precise results
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of laboratory information systems
