Experienced CNC CAM Programmer Wanted

A fantastic position has opened up for a skilled CNC CAM 5 Axis Programmer / Setter – Milling (HAAS) to become part of a dynamic team. This role is with a highly regarded manufacturing firm that offers exceptional employee benefits.

- Working Hours: Monday-Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, including an hour unpaid break.

- Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.

Objective:
To enhance the operational efficiency and profitability of the organization by ensuring timely production of goods according to engineering specifications, while adhering to ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Programming / Setting
Develop programs using CAD CAM software for 5 Axis CNC Machines to manufacture component parts that meet required specifications.
Supervision
Guide and assign tasks to CNC Operators, overseeing their daily performance.
Main Duties:
- Utilize CAD CAM (SolidCAM) for programming.
- Program HAAS 5 Axis machines.
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules and deadlines.
- Produce components efficiently, ensuring first-time quality.
- Identify and suggest manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Support and develop CNC Operators.
- Continuously improve machine shop aspects such as tooling and work holding.
- Manage stock control and material procurement.
- Collaborate with internal teams on production planning to meet assembly requirements.
- Complete necessary documentation.
- Perform data entry using a Sage 200 system.
General Duties:
- Log overtime hours and submit for authorization monthly.
- Participate in training sessions to maintain necessary skills and knowledge.
- Deliver and collect parts from suppliers and customers as needed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the workspace.
- Provide coverage for absent staff as required.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by senior management.
- Adhere to company policies and health and safety regulations.

Experience Required:
- At least three years of relevant experience in a similar role or industry.
- Experience with CAD CAM, preferably SolidCAM, though other systems will be considered.
- Extensive experience in 5 Axis machining.
- Ability to quote machining times and component costs.
- Experience working with various materials, including Aluminium, Mild Steel, and Stainless Steel.
- Familiarity with cavity and custom form tools.
