About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Hazardous Waste division. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our hazardous waste transfer station in winning new business in and around our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and implement high-quality hazardous waste business wins, driving a significant impact on local depot revenues and profitability.
  • Work closely with the local depot and regional management team, as well as the Head of Sales, to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects that fit our business strategy and will deliver sales revenue targets.
  • Represent our business unit positively to all stakeholders, presenting a best-in-class perception for our Specialist Services.
  • Support and respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner, effectively interacting with other departments, including account management and internal teams.
Requirements
  • Sales and development experience in a comparable field-based business development role.
  • Experience in achieving clearly defined key performance indicators.
  • Waste industry knowledge, including relevant laws, would be advantageous.
  • Experience of bid writing and responding to tendering documentation would be advantageous.
  • Numerical mindset with the skill to understand numerical data.
  • Computer literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Software, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to digest and analyze data at pace.
  • Agile, solutions-focused development skillset.
  • Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision, and work well with others.
