AECOM is seeking a Principal Rail Systems Engineer to enhance our Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance team, focusing on rail projects across the UK. As a seasoned professional in railway systems safety, you will lead a team of safety engineering experts, ensuring high standards of safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop: Formulate System Engineering plans and processes, crafting system definitions, technical requirements, and system architectures.
  • Manage: Oversee technical requirements using industry-standard tools (e.g., DOORS, ComplyPro) and deliver systems engineering processes that align with customer needs.
  • Provide Expertise: Assess the interconnections of system requirements and aspects of system design. Collaborate with clients to develop scopes of work and serve as the senior technical resource for the project.
  • Ensure Quality: Offer specialized technical input for studies and designs, creating procedures that promote high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Collaborate: Engage in multi-disciplinary reviews of project deliverables, develop cost estimates, and perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Engineer status.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in railway systems safety and assurance, including system safety and interoperability.
  • Familiarity with UK Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations.
