Colas Rail UK is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Rail Infrastructure Technician to join our team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for individuals with a strong engineering background who are eager to advance their careers within the dynamic rail industry.

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive rail-specific training and be provided with a company vehicle and fuel card.

Role Overview:
  • You will be responsible for the fitting, operation, and maintenance of on-track machines (OTMs) in accordance with strict safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team to identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to scheduled work assignments as directed by management.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Plant Control Room, providing timely updates on operational status.
  • Prioritize safety at all times, promptly reporting any faults or potential hazards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Possess a certified qualification in Vehicle, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and proficiency with computer systems.
  • Hold a valid full driving license with a clean driving record.
  • Exhibit a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Be a reliable team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Possess a keen mechanical aptitude and the flexibility to work weekends, nights, and occasional overnight stays.
