About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Faculty Technician to join our Creative and Expressive Arts team at Broadlands Academy. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of Design and Technology, including Food Technology and Art, by preparing and managing lesson materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage lesson materials and equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient learning environment.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld at all times, adhering to electrical and COSHH regulations.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to students and faculty staff, including advising on equipment availability and setup.
  • Contribute to the school's vibrant and creative atmosphere through display preparation and maintenance.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on machinery and tools, as well as coordinating annual servicing and safety checks.
  • Liaise with teachers to provide support in lesson preparation and delivery, and assist with material orders and resource management.
  • Share expertise on equipment usage and health and safety practices with colleagues.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in English and Mathematics (Level 2 GCSE or equivalent).
  • Experience in using and maintaining workshop tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including electrical and COSHH standards.
  • Ability to solve problems, plan workload, and work as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
