Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for a dedicated midwife to become a vital member of our Maternity Governance team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We seek a passionate and proactive Clinical Governance Midwife to collaborate closely with the Maternity Governance Matron, the Deputy Head of Midwifery, and fellow Governance Team members. This role is essential in advancing the quality and safety initiatives across the maternity services, aligning with NHS Resolution standards and Ockenden actions.

Key Responsibilities

As a pivotal member of the maternity governance team, you will:

  • Lead initiatives focused on service enhancement and quality improvement in clinical governance and risk management.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that the safety and well-being of women and infants remain at the forefront of care.
  • Utilize your leadership and influencing skills to foster a culture of high standards and patient safety.
  • Engage with staff to ensure effective communication of service changes and embed these practices into daily operations.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Registered Midwife qualification.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience as a Band 6 Midwife with a proven track record in clinical governance and leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex situations effectively.
