About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced midwife to join our Maternity Governance team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Governance Midwife, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the system-wide maternity quality and safety agenda, working closely with the Matron for Maternity Governance, the Deputy Head of Midwifery, and other members of the Governance Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on service and quality improvement in clinical governance and risk management
  • Collaborate with system-wide partners to support the Sherwood Forest Hospital governance structure
  • Develop and maintain communication with stakeholders on complex matters, issues, and ideas
  • Use data to inform changes required in care delivery and effectively implement the change
  • Support staff to achieve their full potential through effective supervision and direction
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife
  • Degree or Equivalent
  • Teaching Qualification
  • Perineal Repair
  • Epidural training
  • Cannulation training
  • IV administration
  • Management or Leadership Qualification
  • Current Driving Licence
Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Health and Safety issues
  • Experience as a Band 6 Midwife
  • Experience of development and leadership of change in clinical practice
  • Experience in all aspects of Midwifery care
Personal Attributes
  • Experience in normal midwifery and high risk obstetric care
  • Knowledge of statutory regulations governing nursing and midwifery
  • Knowledge of midwifery issues both strategically and nationally
  • Practice is underpinned by research-based evidence and theory
  • Knowledge and understanding of managerial responsibilities
  • Knowledge of the NHS governance agenda
