Urologist Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urologist to join our team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Urologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our urology services.

• Provide expert advice to General Practitioners on urological matters
• Contribute to service improvements and quality initiatives
• Closely collaborate with other specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Support the development of trainees and clinical fellows
• Maintain the highest clinical standards in patient management
• Vet referrals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in departmental and Trust matters related to Clinical Governance and audit
• Ensure active participation in clinical development and research
• Perform a range of urological procedures, including operative sessions, diagnostic procedures, and outpatient clinics
• Develop and maintain expertise in core urology and sub-specialty interests

• Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
• Success in Intercollegiate Specialty Examination or equivalent (FRCS Urology)
• Postgraduate thesis or MD/MSc
• Extensive practical urological experience
• At least five years supervised training in an appropriate SpR equivalent training programme
• Demonstrable competence and commitment to sub-specialty interests (BPH)
• Commitment to Continuing Medical Education and Clinical Governance
• Demonstrable ability as a teacher and evidence of training for the role
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
