Physiotherapist - Trauma and Orthopaedic Team

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with a range of conditions, including trauma, elective, and specialist femoral fracture unit patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for patients with diverse or complex presentations and co-existing pathologies.
- Formulate and deliver individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options.
- Identify appropriate discharge pathways for patients, taking into account patient wishes and multidisciplinary team views.
- Take delegated responsibility for managing patients and providing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment plans.
- Work effectively with patients who have difficulties in understanding or communicating, including those with expressive or receptive language difficulties, cognitive impairment, depression, deafness, blindness, or other co-existing pathologies.
- Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
- Work within local and national guidelines, monitoring own and others' quality of practice as appropriate.
- Health Care Professions Council Registration.
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Member Chartered Society Physiotherapy.
- Relevant post-registration experience as a physiotherapist (18 months +).
- Evidence of student or physiotherapy assistant supervision.
- Evidence of working in a team.
- Evidence of CPD documented.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays. On-call duties will be required, with training and support provided.
