Position Overview

Location: Totnes, Devon

  • Competitive salary of £12.44 per hour / £25,964.07 annually
  • Standard working hours of 40 in summer and 35.5 in winter
  • Summer Schedule (April to September) - Weekdays: 08:45 - 17:15 & Weekends: 09:45 - 18:15
  • Winter Schedule (October to March) - Weekdays: 08:45 - 16:45 & Weekends: 09:45 - 16:45
  • Rest days to be determined during the interview process
  • Comprehensive PPE provided

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass:

  • Keeping shift logs and delivering daily performance feedback to teams.
  • Conducting toolbox talks regarding safe practices and safety notifications.
  • Supporting supervisors with weekly evaluations, action plans, and monitoring corrective measures.
  • Aiding supervisors in employee onboarding, briefings, and training sessions.
  • Assisting supervisors with the daily management of team performance.
  • Ensuring optimal segregation of recyclable materials at the facility.
  • Advocating for a work process that prioritizes health and safety.
  • Guaranteeing that all equipment in the area is utilized and maintained safely, with all defects reported and high housekeeping standards upheld.
  • Performing 5's audits and SIM observations to foster and sustain a safety and lean culture on site.

The ideal candidate will be self-driven and capable of collaborating effectively within a team. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in a first-line management capacity and eager to enhance their personal development skills.

Essential qualifications include:

  • A flexible work approach, with the willingness to cover shifts and work overtime as necessary.
  • Either possessing or being expected to obtain the IOSH Managing Safely Qualification.
