Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Health and Safety to join our team at Montcalm Collection. As a key member of our central team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for our employees and guests.
Key Responsibilities- Pioneering Health and Safety Initiatives: Develop and implement innovative health and safety programs to mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Industry Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry best practices and ensure Montcalm Collection remains at the forefront of health and safety standards.
- Safety Systems and Compliance: Establish and maintain robust safety systems that meet and exceed regulatory requirements, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and guests.
- Health and Safety Road Map: Create and deploy a comprehensive health and safety road map to enhance our company culture and promote a positive work environment.
- Environmental Consciousness: Oversee an environmental consciousness initiative across all properties, promoting sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.
- Audits and Reporting: Conduct regular audits, maintain related records, and ensure timely statutory returns to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Organize and facilitate training sessions to maintain a highly competent team, well-versed in Montcalm Collection standards.
- Incident Investigations: Lead incident investigations, ensuring thorough reporting and monitoring corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- KPIs and Risk Assessment: Regularly evaluate and update monthly health and safety KPIs and collaborate on risk assessment processes for various tasks.
- Qualifications: NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or an equivalent qualification required.
- Experience: 2 years of dedicated health and safety experience from a similar luxury hospitality background.
- Skills: Experienced in creating and delivering tailored training modules, possessing profound knowledge of health and safety best practices and relevant local regulations.
- Communication: Clear communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments and influence teams to achieve collective goals.
- Problem-Solving: Exhibit sharp problem-solving skills with a keen eye for identifying issues and assessing risks.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
