Family Group Conference Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Group Conference Coordinator to join our team at Achieving for Children Community Interest Company. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in arranging and organizing family group meetings, empowering family members to make informed decisions about their children's care. Your expertise in mediation and communication will be essential in facilitating constructive discussions and ensuring the participation of children and young people in the decision-making process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrange and organize family group meetings, ensuring the participation of all relevant stakeholders.
- Empower family members to make informed decisions about their children's care, using your expertise in mediation and communication.
- Facilitate constructive discussions and ensure the participation of children and young people in the decision-making process.
- Work closely with referrers and other professionals to prepare FGC agendas and questions.
- Provide support and guidance to family members, ensuring they have the necessary information to make informed decisions.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated individual with a strong background in social work and family support. Your expertise in mediation, communication, and child welfare will be essential in this role. You will have a proven track record of working with families and children, and a deep understanding of the complexities of child welfare and family support. Your ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex information to families will be critical to your success in this role.
Requirements:
- FGC accreditation is an essential requirement.
- Previous experience of arranging and completing family group conferencing.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
- Strong analytical and planning skills for assessing and reviewing foster carers and children's needs.
- Ability to explain professional reasoning, judgments, and decision-making in a constructive and supportive manner.
