Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our commercial team at Currys plc. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Buyer to bring the most compelling range and great value products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier relationships in line with the category strategy
  • Select and negotiate product ranges and pricing
  • Monitor the competition to ensure competitive pricing
  • Analyse trading performance and recommend actions to drive business growth
  • Support the Senior Buyer in negotiating product ranges, including cost pricing, additional terms, exclusivity, distribution, and stock availability
  • Pricing the product range in line with agreed category CPI targets

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a buying function, with a strong working knowledge of technical products
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Organised, analytical, and numerate with good judgment
  • Strong commercial awareness and a sense of customer needs
  • Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, or Business degree
