Opportunity Overview: Sellick Partnership Limited is seeking a talented individual for a pivotal role within a reputable local authority as a Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer specializing in Construction.

Role Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be engaged on a contract basis, with the potential for ongoing extensions. The position requires expertise in the Public Sector, particularly within Local Authorities.

Key Qualifications: We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with substantial experience in Construction law, including:

  • Proficiency in JCT and NEC Contracts
  • Ability to advise on construction matters, coupled with strong IT skills and familiarity with JCT construction software
  • Providing legal counsel on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection, and Competition Law
  • Guiding the Council on GDPR implementation related to Contracts
  • Representing the Council in the procurement of various contracts, including Works and Services, Concession Contracts, Waste Contracts, and Building Contracts
  • Interpreting Contracts and other legal documents, along with complex drafting and execution of contracts

Ideal Candidate: The preferred candidate will possess a solid understanding of public procurement processes.
